In harsh outdoor environments such as bridges, steel structures, petrochemical facilities, and energy equipment, protective coatings must withstand not only UV radiation, salt spray, and chemical corrosion, but also mechanical impact, structural deformation, and temperature fluctuations.

However, traditional high-performance anticorrosion coatings often face a challenge: Higher hardness may lead to brittleness, while improved flexibility may compromise weather resistance and durability.

To overcome this challenge, Quark New Material has developed Durle® SH-219E, a high-performance epoxy-modified polysiloxane resin system designed to achieve an optimized balance between: Weatherability + Mechanical Durability + Construction Performance. SH-219E provides a comprehensive solution for long-life industrial protection applications.

1. High Solid Content Design for Better Efficiency and Lower VOC

SH-219E adopts a high solid content formulation: Clear coat: 85.10%; Pigmented coatings: 92.07%(post-curing)

The high solid content design helps:

✔ Reduce VOC emissions

✔ Increase effective dry film thickness per application

✔ Reduce coating passes

✔ Improve construction efficiency

For large-scale industrial projects, high solid content contributes to better productivity and more sustainable coating solutions.

2. Enhanced Mechanical Performance - Protection Beyond Corrosion Resistance

During transportation, installation, and operation, industrial equipment is often exposed to mechanical impact and structural movement. To address these challenges, SH-219E has been optimized for superior toughness and flexibility.

Test results demonstrate that SH-219E provides: Higher impact resistance, Better flexibility; Reduced risk of coating damage caused by impact, transportation, and structural deformation

3. Excellent Weatherability for Long-Term Outdoor Protection

UV exposure is one of the major causes of coating degradation, including gloss loss, chalking, and color fading.

Durle® SH-219E has been evaluated through accelerated weathering tests including: QUV-B accelerated UV aging and QUV-A long-term weathering simulation. The results demonstrate excellent gloss retention and color stability.
