With GB 30981.2-2025 Limit of Harmful Substances in Coatings-Part 2: Industrial Coatings taking mandatory effect on June 1, 2026, China's industrial anti-corrosion coating industry faces stricter environmental compliance. The standard lowers permissible limits for VOC, SVOC, APEO, free isocyanate and other harmful ingredients, requiring manufacturers to adopt low-VOC, high-performance coating formulas.

Riding this industry transformation momentum, Quark Durle® polysiloxane resin leverages proprietary formulation technologies to supply compliant, long-service-life raw material solutions for heavy-duty anti-corrosion applications.

Eco-Friendly Formulation: Low VOCs, PFAS-Free, High-Solid / Solvent-Free System, Non-Hazardous

  •  Compliant with the latest national environmental standard: Featuring high solids and low viscosity with solid content ≥80%, the resins support high-solid or solvent-free coating formulations. The VOC content of finished coatings is far below the limit specified in GB 30981.2-2025, easily satisfying mandatory low-VOC regulatory requirements.

  •  Safe for human health with zero hidden risks: Coatings formulated from Durle® polysiloxane resins contain no restricted hazardous substances including isocyanates and heavy metals, eliminating health hazards originating from inherent isocyanates in PU and fluorocarbon feedstocks. Classified as non-dangerous goods, the product streamlines full-cycle management for warehousing, transportation and on-site application.

  •  Low-carbon & sustainability: Lower carbon footprint and much less reliance on petrochemical feedstock compared with PU and fluorocarbon resins. Entirely free from PFAS perfluorinated compounds to avoid regulatory risks associated with PFAS in conventional fluorocarbon products, aligning with China’s dual-carbon strategic goals.

QUV-A Test: Long-Term Gloss Retention with Proven Outdoor Anti-Aging Performance

Actual QUV accelerated weathering test results visually validate the resin’s outstanding weather resistance. Topcoats formulated with Durle® polysiloxane resins withstand over 5,000 hours of QUV-A exposure with a color change value △E = 0.58, delivering exceptional gloss and color retention.

In contrast, conventional acrylic and PU topcoats suffer severe gloss loss and chalking after only a few thousand hours of accelerated aging. The Si-O backbone bonds of polysiloxane possess far higher bonding energy than C-C bonds, which offer polysiloxane natural UV/oxidation resistance vs ordinary acrylic/PU (prone to chalking after short aging). This will reduce the maintenance and repaint cost greatly.

3,000h Salt Spray Test Validates Superior Anti-Corrosion Performance
Standard anti-corrosion evaluation: Blast steel panels, conventional epoxy primer(45-65μm) + epoxy modified polysiloxane topcoat(120-150μm). After 3,000 hours NSS exposure, no rust spots, blistering, coating delamination or obvious gloss reduction.

The outstanding over-3000-hour salt spray performance solves the common industry bottleneck where ordinary anti-corrosion topcoats fail within only 1,000~2,000 hours of salt spray exposure. Polysiloxane system coatings is well suited for heavy-duty anti-corrosion applications in coastal petrochemical plants and port heavy-duty equipment exposed to high humidity and high chloride ion corrosion.

Application Projects: Proven Performance In Major Projects

Due to superior weathering & anti-corrosion properties alongside full environmental compliance, Quark Durle® polysiloxane resins is widely used for benchmark projects across key heavy-industry sectors including petrochemical facilities, steel bridge structures, LNG energy installations and water conservancy infrastructure, with stable product performance fully verified under actual service conditions.

  • Heavy-Duty Anti-Corrosion for Coastal Pipelines & Steel Structures

Severe coastal salt-spray corrosion adopts polysiloxane topcoat, featuring high humidity and concentrated chloride ions. Thanks to its low-VOCs formulation and non-hazardous classification, the product complies with on-site environmental construction regulations and delivers long-term resistance against salt-spray corrosion after application.

  • Anti-Corrosion for Offshore Flare Stacks & Pipe Racks

Operating within highly corrosive offshore chemical parks subject to combined high-temperature and salt-spray attack, polysiloxane system coatings deliver reliable thermal resistance and chemical resistance to meet stringent service requirements of LNG facilities. Meanwhile, its low-VOC formulation satisfies the environmental control specifications.

  • Protection for Water Conservancy Facilities & Steel Structures

Exposed to open-air water-affected service conditions, coatings are required to withstand rainwater immersion, UV-induced discoloration and surface soiling. Coatings formulated with Durle® resins feature outstanding weatherability, anti-discoloration performance and excellent stain resistance for easy cleaning, keeping the coating film intact during years of outdoor service.

Polysiloxane Core Benefits & New Standard Compliance

Polysiloxane's inorganic Si-O chain brings natural merits: thermal, chemical, UV and water resistance.

Epoxy/acrylic modification by Quark improves silicone's poor adhesion and blending issues, balancing silicone's corrosion/weather resistance and organic resin's easy application.
