SH-223
SH-223 is a solvent-free, reactive methoxy-functional methylphenyl silicone oligomer. When combined with a curing catalyst, it can be used as a high-hardness, durable, room-temperature moisture-curable coating agent. Additionally, by mixing or co-reacting the methoxysilyl groups with organic resins containing reactive groups through a dealcoholization reaction, giving the resin heat resistance, weather resistance, and chemical resistance, and can also serve as a reactive diluent.
PRODUCT BENEFITS

APPLICATION
Silicone intermediates are a crucial class of compounds in silicone chemistry, typically referring to oligomeric or prepolymeric siloxanes bearing reactive functional groups (e.g., silanol, Si-H, alkoxy, etc.). They primarily serve as key synthetic raw materials or modification additives and are widely used in the polymer materials industry, particularly in the coatings sector. Their main applications are as follows:
1. High-Temperature Resistant Coatings
Function: Act as the primary film-forming substance or additive in coatings, significantly enhancing the heat resistance of the coating.
Principle: The silicon-oxygen bonds (Si-O) in silicone intermediates exhibit high bond energy and excellent thermal stability, maintaining structural integrity at elevated temperatures.
Application Scenarios: Protective coatings for engine exhaust pipes, industrial chimneys, boilers, high-temperature pipelines, etc.
Long-term service temperature range: typically 200°C–600°C, with short-term tolerance for even higher temperatures.
2. Coating Resin Modifiers
Function: Chemically modify conventional resins (e.g., epoxy, acrylic, polyester, polyurethane).
Modification Effects:
Enhanced Weather Resistance: Introduction of siloxane segments improves resistance to UV radiation, hydrolysis, and chalking.
Improved Flexibility and Adhesion: Reduces resin brittleness and enhances substrate adhesion.
Enhanced Surface Properties: Increases coating abrasion resistance, scratch resistance, and hydrophobicity.
3. Coating Additives
Function: Serve as leveling agents, defoamers, wetting agents, slip agents, etc., to improve coating application properties and final film quality.
4. Modifiers for Introducing Silicone Components into Other Resins
Function: Incorporate siloxane segments into other polymer systems via copolymerization, grafting, or physical blending.
Objectives:
Hybrid Advantages: Combine the film-forming ability and mechanical strength of organic resins with the heat resistance, weather resistance, and low surface energy of silicones.
Customized Performance: Tailor resin properties such as heat resistance, flexibility, dielectric properties, and breathability according to requirements.
